Front-end Engineer

About the role

We're seeking a front-end engineer to take full ownership and responsibility of our platform application's front-end. This may entail:

• Building out our testing flow, from unit to end-to-end tests.
• Building out a design system and component library with a design team.
• Coming up with ways to communicate scientific concepts in a clear, concise, and beautiful way.
• Optimising the performance of the application.
• Iterating on our in-house LLM harness with our team.
• Ad-hoc work on the marketing site.

About Atomic Tessellator

In the last year, our team of four has built a near-comprehensive platform to simulate almost everything there is to know about a material. We’ve completed pilot projects across aerospace, defence, nuclear fusion, and advanced polymers. We’re the first to scale MLIPs across GPUs, and we’re in the process of patenting our first rare-earth magnet substitute.

About the role

We're seeking a front-end engineer to take full ownership and responsibility of our platform application's front-end. This may entail:

• Building out a design system and component library with a design team.
• Coming up with ways to communicate scientific concepts in a clear, concise, and beautiful way.
• Optimising the performance of the application.
• Iterating on our in-house LLM harness with our team.
• Ad-hoc work on the marketing site.

The application is built with Vue.js, Vite, Typescript, Pinia, Cytoscape.js, Chart.js, D3.js, Three.js, and WebGL.

Given you'll be taking ownership, we want to trust your judgment and do what you think is best. We're not scared to tear things down and build them again.

Things that are specific to this role:

• Senior-level commercial experience with frontend development
• Exceptionally high taste. You'll be the first in a field where people are used to dealing with text on a terminal
• Experience in scientific programming and visualisations
• Fluency in writing compute shaders and high-performance GPU programming
• Deep understanding of agentic coding concepts
