Senior Infrastructure Engineer

A seed-stage infrastructure company founded by the engineers who built one of the most widely used open-source stream processing frameworks in the world is hiring a cloud infra engineer to own a significant chunk of their entire cloud platform. Not a lane of it. The whole thing.

The product is genuinely foundational. Durable execution is becoming critical infrastructure for modern distributed systems and AI application - the reliability layer that sits underneath everything.

Their runtime ships as a single Rust binary, no external database required, and is already running critical financial workflows for Fortune 500 companies including Tier 1 banks. Backed by some of the most recognised names in developer infrastructure and backed by a top-tier US VC.

What the role actually covers:

• Multi-tenant SaaS, BYOC, on-prem deployments and OSS - you span all of it
• Deep work in the Rust-based infrastructure layer and Kubernetes operators
• Reliability and observability across the fleet - SLOs, traces, alerting, runbooks
• Working directly with enterprise customers on their BYOC and on-prem deployments
• On-call rotation - a US East Coast hire meaningfully improves their timezone coverage

What they're looking for

• Operated production SaaS or platform infrastructure at scale
• Strong opinions on how multi-tenant systems should run
• Kubernetes-native, IaC experience (Crossplane, Cluster API, Terraform)
• Systems language background - Rust, Go, or C++. Go engineers willing to learn Rust are welcome
• Comfortable owning end-to-end, from design through to production operations
