Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City is seeking an experienced Information Security Architect to join our Information Security team. The successful candidate will assist in various facets including development of strategies, solutions, standards and reference architectures, will participate in threat modeling and risk assessment activities and will provide guidance to the business on security best practices. The Information Security Architect is able to work autonomously and is able to grasp the impact of his or her work on existing and planned infrastructure and solutions. In addition, the Information Security Architect cooperates with others to assess risks and drive remediation and mitigation of findings as well as providing thought leadership on various security and compliance best practices.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent skills and experience
12+ years’ Information Technology experience
10+ years’ Information Security experience
7+ years’ Cybersecurity experience
4+ years’ Cloud experience
Can interface with, and gain the respect of, stakeholders at all levels and roles in the company
Is a confident, energetic self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills
Has good judgment, a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity
Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
Experience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman and/or TOGAF.
