Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This role sits at the infrastructure core of a Series C technology company whose platform helps disrupt human trafficking networks, ransomware operations, and nation-state attacks. The engineering work is technically demanding and the impact is direct. You will own architectural decisions across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and internal developer tooling, building systems from the ground up in a high-ownership, high-velocity environment. The work lives at the platform engineering layer: designing operators, controllers, and internal abstractions that extend Kubernetes itself.

Compensation: $210,000 - $230,000 base + equity ($250,000 - $350,000, 4-year vest, 1-year cliff). Compensation packages are structured flexibly -- the company offers options ranging from higher equity/lower base to the inverse, depending on candidate preference.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

• Architect and build cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP serving high-volume, production-scale workloads
• Own Kubernetes platform engineering: design and implement operators, controllers, and internal abstractions that extend the platform beyond cluster management
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, including modularization and full codebase ownership where greenfield
• Design and operate secrets management systems, network architecture, and platform security with hands-on architectural ownership
• Stand up new cloud services from zero to production with full end-to-end ownership of outcomes
• Build deployment pipelines, observability tooling, and internal developer platforms
• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into infrastructure that meets cost, performance, and reliability targets
• Write Python in support of platform delivery and tooling at developer-grade depth

• Kubernetes expertise at the platform engineering layer: operators, controllers, CRDs, and custom abstractions at thousands-of-nodes scale
• Terraform ownership at the architectural level: modular IaC design built and maintained from scratch
• Python at developer-grade depth, including translating product requirements directly into code
• Infrastructure experience at high-growth startups (Series A through C); startup experience is a must-have
• A zero-to-one ownership track record with documented business outcomes and measurable milestones
• AWS or GCP cloud experience (EKS, GKE, or AKS all acceptable -- Kubernetes depth is the requirement, not cloud provider)
• Architectural ownership of secrets management systems, network design, and platform security beyond compliance coverage
• SOC 2 compliance experience embedded in broader infrastructure ownership
• Ability to ship production-grade work on short timelines and operate with full autonomy in a flat, fast-moving organization
• Comfort leveraging AI tooling to accelerate engineering outcomes
