Join Synmatch AI's client as a Senior Backend Engineer - Cloud / Platform Focus with a global premium provider of measurement and testing systems. You'll own the GNXT cloud platform that connects measurement instruments, companion apps, and business systems across electrical safety, e-mobility, and medical technology applications. Our client has decades of expertise in high-quality measurement technology with "Made in Germany" standards. You'll design and implement scalable backend services that support critical infrastructure for electrical trade, industry, and public institutions while ensuring security, reliability, and performance at scale. This role combines deep technical ownership with architectural leadership, where you'll define data models, build secure APIs, and establish platform evolution guidelines while mentoring other engineers and contributing to infrastructure design decisions.

What you will do as a Senior Backend Engineer... Own Cloud Platform: Design and implement scalable backend services on AWS for the GNXT cloud backbone. Define Data Architecture: Create and maintain canonical data models across business units and integration points. Establish Architectural Standards: Define guardrails and best practices for platform evolution and system design. Build Secure APIs: Develop REST APIs for cross-product integration with robust security and performance. Implement Access Control: Design identity management, multi-tenancy, and access control systems. Support System Integration: Enable integration of measurement systems into the customer platform. Infrastructure Design: Contribute to cloud infrastructure architecture and deployment strategies. Ensure Quality: Maintain clean architecture principles with focus on security, scalability, and maintainability. Mentor and Review: Guide other engineers through code reviews and technical mentorship. What we are looking for… Extensive Experience: 6-8+ years of backend development with proven track record in scalable systems. Modern Stack Expertise: Strong Node.js/TypeScript or equivalent modern backend technology proficiency. AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with IAM, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and similar AWS services. System Design Skills: Experience designing API-first architecture and multi-tenant systems. DevOps Knowledge: Strong background in CI/CD, monitoring, and secure cloud deployment practices. Architectural Thinking: Proven ability in system design and architectural decision-making for platform evolution.
